Best of 2020

Dec 15, 2020

The Christmas season heralds the end of the year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the trustful cooperation and look forward to a successful continuation in 2021! We wish you a Merry Christmas in the circle of your family and wish you good luck, success and above all health for the coming year! Before we also enjoy a few peaceful holidays, we would like to take a look at what we have experienced this year. With our Best of 2020, we look back at the year and show you the highlights.

Robot Roadshow

The SICK Robot Roadshow was hosted in cooperation with KUKA, Schunk and the bfi Styria under the motto "Be part of shaping the future!” Various stops in Austria, Slovenia, Romania and Hungary were planned, but due to the situation from mid-March, we had to cancel the outstanding dates. The central topic of the SICK Robot Roadshow was safe human-robot collaboration and solutions for robots, grippers, camera systems and safety technology demonstrated while using a live model. In the subsequent discussion rounds, participants and experts in robotics were able to exchange views on individual requirements and questions.

Webinar Offer

In order to be able to keep our customers up to date "remotely" and offer them an opportunity for personal training, we created the SICK webinars. In addition to the presentation of sensor technologies as well as industry trends, there was also always the opportunity to exchange ideas directly with our experts. Due to strong demand, we also offer our webinars "on demand" - i.e. available for you to call up at any time.

Explore. – the virtual conference

Together we took a step into the future and talked about digitization at EXPLORE. the virtual conference. An interesting introduction to the topic of digitization was provided by Sonja Piontek's keynote speech on the topic of "Ultra Creativity", after which we went into medias res. Together with the visitors, all five steps (connectivity, visibility, transparency, predictability, adaptability) on the way to digitalization were highlighted from the perspective of both technicians and managers: All participants can find the documents and recordings of the EXPLORE here.

All-in-One-2020

With the promotion "ALL-IN-ONE-2020" we offered our customers the optimal sensors for each of their applications from our extensive portfolio - and at particularly attractive prices! From the purchase of two different product families, an additional 1% discount could be collected for each additional product family. Thus with this action up to 15% could be saved with the purchase of sensors and accessories. The different product families could be included in several orders - and so our customers could collect discounts for the coming year with EVERY order from July 1, 2020 to December 15, 2020.

Chat Tool

In order to make the operation in our webshop easy and efficient, we have extended the functions. Since October, our employees are also available for consultation via chat. The chat function is accessible for all webshop users in Austria via the My SICK area. Get started right away and contact us with your concerns.

Training & Consulting with a focus on Safety

Since October 2019, bfi Steiermark and SICK Austria have been cooperation partners with the aim of bringing innovative developments in safety technology to the field of vocational training and implementing them pedagogically. In March, the joint training program started with both product-specific training on safety laser scanners and light curtains and training on the topics of safe MRC systems and machine safety in automation technology and production. Further training courses are already planned for the coming year and registration is already open.
