Privacy Notice Meta - Facebook & Instagram

We operate our Facebook and Instagram pages on the platforms of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland.

For certain processing activities (e.g. page insights), there is joint controllership between us and Meta within the meaning of Art. 26 GDPR.

When you visit our pages, Meta processes personal data under its own responsibility (e.g. usage data, cookies, interactions). As page operator, we have only limited influence over the type and scope of this data processing.

Processing by Meta / Joint controllership (Insights) For certain processing activities (e.g. provision of page insights/statistics), joint controllership in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR exists between us and Meta.

In this context, Meta provides us with aggregated evaluations regarding the use of our pages (e.g. reach, interactions). Meta bears primary responsibility for this processing. Further information can be found in Meta’s privacy policy.
Purpose of processing We process personal data when you interact with us via our Facebook or Instagram pages (e.g. comments, likes, direct messages), in particular to:
  • present our company and carry out public relations
  • provide information about products, services, careers, and events
  • communicate with you and respond to inquiries
  • moderate and manage content
Categories of data We process in particular:
  • publicly visible profile data (e.g. username, profile picture)
  • content of your interactions (comments, reactions, messages)
  • date and time of the interaction
Legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest)

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (for contract-related inquiries)
Legitimate interest Our legitimate interest lies in modern corporate communication and in exchanging information with customers, applicants, and interested parties via social media.
Consequences of failure to provide data Providing data is neither legally nor contractually required. Without interaction, we may not be able to process your request.
Retention period Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for processing purposes:
  • interactions remain visible until they are deleted
  • messages are deleted after processing unless legal obligations require retention
Data source The data is provided directly by you in the context of using and interacting with our pages.
Recipients of the data Within SICK AG, only the responsible departments have access to your data.

In addition, Meta processes your data as the platform provider.
Transmission to third countries As a rule, we do not transfer personal data. However, Meta may transfer data (e.g. to the USA).
Logic of automated decision-making No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

 

Uw rechten

U heeft het recht

  • van inzage in uw persoonsgegevens;
  • op rectificatie van uw persoonsgegevens;
  • op wissen of blokkering van uw persoonsgegevens;
  • van bezwaar tegen de verwerking van uw persoonsgegevens;
  • op overdraagbaarheid van uw persoonsgegevens;
  • op herroepen van uw toestemming vanaf dat moment, indien de verwerking van uw persoonsgegevens op uw toestemming berust; alsmede
  • op het indienen van een klacht bij een autoriteit voor gegevensbescherming, indien u meent dat de verwerking van uw persoonsgegevens ingaat tegen het privacyrecht.
