ESPE
An electro-sensitive protective device (ESPE) is a device or system of devices used for the safety-related detection of people or human body parts.
ESPEs provide personal protection at machines and plants/systems where there is a risk of physical injury. The electro-sensitive protective device causes the machine or plant/system to switch over to a safe state before a person is exposed to a dangerous situation.
Examples include safety light curtains and safety laser scanners.
