Protection and localization of disinfection robots in hospitals

Patient rooms are disinfected by the UV-C disinfection robot. In the process, the mobile robot moves in delineated areas to which people have no access due to the UV emission. The nanoScan3 safety laser scanner reliably detects people and ensures precise localization of the robot. To prevent the robot from colliding with infrastructure, the TiM1xx 2D LiDAR sensor scans the surroundings. Alternatively, a vision camera can be used to perform a three-dimensional scan of the environment.
