Compact palletizing applications

The combination of safety sensors – which may consist of safety laser scanners and a safety controller, for instance – ensures open yet safe access to the machine while using the space available as effectively as possible. This protection enables the worker to position a pallet during operation without using any mechanical protective devices, while the robot continues to operate at a safely reduced speed. The horizontal protection provided by the safety laser scanner enables the robot’s speed to be reduced gradually until it comes to a complete stop – and ensures that it restarts automatically as soon as the worker has left the hazardous area. Only the vertical protection afforded by the safety light curtain will cause the robot to stop safely if the protective field is interrupted.
