Apr 11, 2016

Ideal for Long-range RFID

SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, encoders and automatic identification solutions for factory, logistics, and process automation, today announced the launch of the RFU650 RFID device. The RFU650 is a long-range (up to 5 m) passive UHF, interrogator for use in industrial RFID applications.

The RFU650 is unique in that it not only has the ability to read and write data to transponders (tags) but also has the built-in functionality for determining and assigning the angular position of tags moving through the field.

UHF RFID transponders demonstrate outstanding reading reliability thanks to correct transponder assignment, including integrated entry detection plus direction output. This space-saving, compact device does not require any additional antennae. This device is ideal for final assembly and vehicle delivery in the automotive industry. In addition, it can be used for receiving and outgoing goods applications, as well as forklift applications in logistics.
