Protection and localization of professional service robots in restaurants

Professional service robots guide guests to their tables or serve drinks and food. For a robot to reliably avoid obstacles such as people, chairs or tables in highly dynamic environments, it must know its position at all times. The microScan3 safety laser scanner, combined with the LiDAR-LOC localization software, ensures reliable navigation of the robot. The Visionary-T Mini 3D vision camera detects objects above the scan plane of the safety laser scanner, providing an additional system for collision avoidance.
