Picking up dollies using an app

Precise detection of the relative place and position of the dolly is required for automated pick-up of the dolly by an automated guided vehicle. The 3D snapshot technology of the Visionary-T AP makes it possible to measure the room volume without moving parts in the sensor or a change to the position of the vehicle being necessary. The detected 3D measurement data is used by the Dolly Positioning SensorApp to calculate the position of the dolly and its relevant corner point coordinates. As this application can be used directly on the sensor, no additional computing unit is needed. The resulting target coordinates and additional sensor information can then be very easily processed by the vehicle control, thereby ensuring precise load pick-up and reliable transport of the dolly.
