Keeping a distance sensor cool in a hot environment
Temperatures as high as 60 °C are commonplace in factories producing concrete products, and keeping a sensor within environmental specifications is critical to automating the crane's position. With its TPCC cooling housing, SICK's DME5000 long range distance sensor is up to the challenge, providing the sensor with long-term protection against the high temperatures in the factory. The TPCC cooling housing operates based on thermoelectric principles, which eliminates the need for an elaborate installation such as those that use water to cool the sensor.
