Robot-supported part localization of the battery housing

During automated battery assembly, an industrial robot picks up battery housings from the pallet and places them on a conveyor belt or AGV for further processing. The PLR robot guidance system provides support during this tasks, thus ensuring precise part localization. The system is based on a 2.5D vision camera and uses reference images to determine the exact coordinates of the battery housing. This is how it calculates the optimum gripping position of the robot arm. As a cost-effective stand-alone solution, the PLR is operated via an integrated web server, is set up in no time at and can be easily integrated into the robot controller.
