Angela Merkel visits SICK at trade fair

24-apr-2017

Angela Merkel’s visit to SICK’s stand provided a highlight right at the start of this year’s Hannover Messe.

The German Chancellor stopped off at SICK’s stand during her mandatory tour of the trade fair on its opening. She was accompanied by Beata Szydlo, Poland’s Prime Minister. Poland is this year’s partner country at the Hannover Messe.

While they were touring the stand, Dr. Robert Bauer, CEO, presented the guests with a hands-on version of Industry 4.0: SICK’s smart factory. The tour takes visitors straight to the center of the intelligent factory. Networked production processes at various stations present Industry 4.0 live and turn the digitalized future into an interactive experience. Dr. Robert Bauer used the exhibit to show the Chancellor relevant challenges posed by Industry 4.0 as well as their particular solutions from SICK’s point of view.

Known for her interest in new technological developments, she took the opportunity to ask Dr. Bauer several follow-up questions.
