We operate this LinkedIn company page on the platform of LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland. For certain processing activities, there is joint controllership between us and LinkedIn within the meaning of Art. 26 GDPR.

Joint responsibility with LinkedIn When you visit our LinkedIn company page, LinkedIn processes personal data under its own responsibility (e.g. through cookies or similar technologies, for analyzing usage behavior and providing statistics and so-called page insights). As the page operator, we have only limited influence on the type and scope of this processing.

To the extent that LinkedIn provides us with aggregated analyses (“page insights”), joint controllership or a division of responsibilities with LinkedIn may exist in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR.

Purpose of processing We process personal data whenever you interact with us via LinkedIn (e.g. comments, likes, or messages), in particular to:
  • our company and carry out public relations
  • information about products, services, careers, and events
  • with you and respond to inquiries
  •  
  • moderate and manage content
Categories of data Depending on the type of interaction, we process in particular:
  • publicly visible profile data (e.g. name, profile picture, position)
  • content of your interactions (comments, likes, messages)
  • date and time of the interaction
Legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest)

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where your inquiry relates to the conclusion or performance of a contract (e.g. product inquiries)
Legitimate interest Our legitimate interest lies in presenting our company, providing information about our services, and communicating with users as part of modern corporate communication.
Consequences of failure to provide data Providing personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without providing such data, the purpose cannot be fulfilled.
Retention time Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the respective purposes:
  • public interactions (e.g. comments) remain visible until they are deleted
  • messages are deleted after final processing unless statutory retention obligations apply
Data source We only process data that you provide to us in the course of interacting with our LinkedIn page.
Recipients of the data Your data is processed within SICK AG only by the departments responsible for handling your request.

In addition, processing is carried out by LinkedIn as the platform provider.
Transmission to third countries We do not transfer personal data to third countries. Any transfer by LinkedIn (e.g. to the USA) takes place outside our sphere of influence.
Logic of automated decision-making We do not carry out automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
