Collision-free container turnover

Due to the high level of automation of container terminals, vehicles and cranes must be equipped with sensors to prevent collisions. The LMS 2D laser scanner with IP 67 enclosure rating and integrated heating specially designed for outdoor use is well-suited for this application. The LMS5xx scanner monitors manned or unmanned container turnover systems such as ship-to-store cranes, straddle carriers or gantry cranes. If cranes are manned, the scanner supports the driver, since it is almost impossible to get an all-around view due to the special design of the cranes. The container systems can therefore be moved quicker and work more efficiently. This saves money and increases container turnover.
