  • SICK K.K. was established in Tokyo as a wholly owned subsidiary of SICK AG, Germany, on 12th November 1987. The mother company was founded in 1946 in Munich, Germany, and is presently situated in Waldkirch in the Black Forest.

    With offices in Tokyo, Nagoya and Kobe, SICK Japan supplies high quality automation technology for the Japanese market with extended service and support.

  • 1987

    Established as SICK Optic-Electronic in Tokyo, a subsidiary of SICK AG.

     

    2000

    Renamed SICK K.K. with services adapted for the Japanese market.

     

    2003

    Opened a branch office in Osaka – a new base for a growing market, with enhanced sales and support system.

     

    2004

    Opened the Nagoya branch office.

     

    2006

    Opened a test center in Sagamihara City, with support for multiple industries.

     

    2008

    Relocated the Osaka office to Port Island, Kobe.

     

    2010

    Began sales of 3D Machine Vision in Japan.

     

    2014

    Moved the Tokyo headquarters to Nakano-ku near Shinjuku.

     

    2016

    Opening of a Local Competence Center in Japan.

     

    2017

    30th Anniversary of SICK Japan

     

    2019

    Established an internal sales department for Process Automation
