The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has established regulations for the reduction of ship emissions. SICK analyzers successfully monitor flue gas scrubbers which remove, for example, SO2 from marine diesel engine exhaust gases. SICK analyzer systems also measure other components such as CO, CO2, H2O, NH3, O2 and CH4 in exhaust gas from turbines and boilers upstream and downstream of catalysts or gas scrubbers. SICK also offers solutions to measure the volume flow of gases, such as exhaust gases, and natural gas as a fuel. This may be during cargo loading and unloading, as well as to determine the amount of fuel injected into an engine. When loading bulk materials, SICK sensors also monitor loading quantities, and prevent collisions between cranes.
