Sales Engineer – Industry Sales

Purpose of the role:
 
The logistics market is becoming more demanding with increasing complexity and bespoke system requirements incorporating technically advanced products and solutions. SICK represents the cutting edge of automation technology in terms of its components and systems for this market which forms a strategic growth area for SICK (UK) Ltd. To meet the requirements SICK UK is looking to establish a position within the Industry Sales Team to support and develop this demanding market. This is a UK wide position and the potential candidate will ideally be located within 50 miles of St Albans.
 
Your Key Challenges:
 
Establish and maintain knowledge of Logistics Automation products and their applications with special emphasis on application and systems solutions relevant to the logistics market • Sell those products and applications to existing and new customers and develop customer base • Achieve targets by identifying sales opportunities, maintaining regular contact with existing customers either by site visits as required or telephone calls, telephoning and visiting potential customers with a view to build relationships, making sales presentations, preparing and following up sales proposals / quotations • Communicate regularly with the Internal Sales Office, the Sales Manager, the Product Managers and Sales Engineer colleagues • Maintain and manage CRM and other company databases relevant to the role
 
Your qualification:
 
Formal qualification in Engineering to at least  BTEC HNC/D level or industry-based equivalent knowledge and experience • Enthusiastic and with a can-do attitude  • Willing and keen to learn  and build a career within Logistics Automation • Experience in a similar role within Logistics Automation in the UK would be beneficial • Happy and comfortable to work on their own initiative as well as integrating into a team
