After Sales Engineer - Process Automation (South)

Purpose of the Role:

In order to support the Process Automation After Sales Team SICK (UK) LTD is recruiting for an After Sales Engineer for the South of the UK to cover this area plus national work when required. Working alongside the current After Sales Engineers the successful candidate will have the necessary qualifications, knowledge and skills to enhance the Company’s customer service and grow SICK’s presence in the market. The role is home office based and ideally located around the M4 corridor; must be south of the Midlands. 

Your Key Challenges:

Establish and maintain knowledge of SICK Process Automation products and their relevant legislation •  Build, maintain and develop strong links with Process Automation customers • Plan site visits and attend customers’ sites for repair, maintenance and support with a view to identify and actively generate sales opportunities • Participate in the 24/7 Rota Team • Administrative tasks in relation to site visits • Communicate and cooperate with the Process Automation Manager, Market Product Manager and Sales Specialist and assist with lead generation and market intelligence • Communicate and cooperate with the After Sales Manager in identifying possible Service Contract and Service Sales opportunities 

Your Qualification:

Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering and / or Chemistry • Background and experience in a similar role in Process Automation with an emphasis on Waste incineration, power generation and the cement industry • Strong analytical skills • Commercial awareness and experience in running small projects • Ability to work at heights • Convincing personality • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally to participate in training courses and / or exhibitions • Computer literate • Attention to detail • Clean driving license • Willingness and ability to stay away overnight and / or – on rare occasions – work at weekends as part of the 24/7 Rota • Expected to participate in a 24/7 Response Rota for Service Contracts (once suitably trained).
