A lively campus
A lot can happen when people meet; they learn from each other and experience an interplay of give and take. The campus of the SICK Sensor Intelligence Academy (SIA) provides the platform for this exchange, which transforms knowledge into aha moments and ideas into innovations. Welcome to the SIA Campus!
The campus of the SICK Sensor Intelligence Academy (SIA), which is unprecedented in the region, was created during a planning and implementation phase lasting almost four years. In the unused Buchholz castle in the midst of a spacious park, the new building for further education and training now stands as a training center for customers and employees. In addition to the 250-year-old heritage listed Buchholz Castle, the site includes a coach house, a farm building, and a residential building. Directly at the entrance to the new campus building you will find foyer, reception, information and exhibition areas. An atrium opens up to the two levels above, providing a light-filled ambience.
- 4700 m² for training courses, communication, and co-creation
- 24 training rooms
- Spacious co-creation area on the top floor
- Auditorium for 160 people
- Media and recording rooms
- Meeting rooms on each floor
- Office space for the Sensor Intelligence Academy team
After two and a half years of construction, the new building of the SICK Academy in the park of Buchholz Castle in Waldkirch was finally complete. Sick Glaser GmbH invested around 19 million euros (net) in the international training center for employees and customers of SICK AG.
Learning as a synthesis of the arts
When planning the campus, it was clear from the outset: We want to create a learning architecture that meets the most exacting requirements. The result is a place with a very special ambience that focuses on the art of imparting and acquiring knowledge. Here, we tirelessly think and make, test and try – everything to ensure that our participants find an ideal learning environment.
Who says we have to find answers on our own? The issues of the present and the future require the ideas and perspectives of numerous experts. The knowledge and practical experience of our participants make them our partners in the search for the solutions for the day after tomorrow.
