IMI: Rugged full metal sensors

Tough, tougher, toughest.

Demanding applications with mechanical and chemical loads, for example impacts or cleaning processes with aggressive media present a great challenge to conventional sensors. Not so for the IMI full metal sensor from SICK. With its closed housing made entirely from stainless steel, it stands up to these operating conditions with ease thus deservedly ranking as the most durable and rugged of its kind. Long sensing ranges and communication via IO-Link ensure high process stability and plant availability while also enabling applications to be implemented more flexibly and cost-effectively.

At SICK, it is a thing of the past that the sensing range of inductive proximity sensors is limited to just a few millimeters. The keyword is 3xSn: Sensors with extreme sensing range over several centimeters. No matter the range of applications, whether in industrial environments, mechanical engineering or the food industry: Save space in the machine with the user of smaller sensors with identical sensing ranges to larger standard sensors. Or lower the risk of mechanical damage due to the option of mounting the sensor farther from the detection object and ensure stable processes and high plant availability.

The IMF inductive proximity sensors combine tried-and-tested, rugged SICK mechanics with advanced electronics. With the E1 type approval by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, the sensors are optimally suited for use in mobile machines. Protection against load dump, high electromagnetic compatibility, a large voltage and temperature range as well as extreme resistance and leak tightness of the IMS series ensures optimal functionality in any weather as well as maximum operating times of mobile machines.
