IQG: Single-click installation

Achieving instantly reliable proximity sensing is simple with the single-click installation of the SICK IQG sensor.  With its one-second mount and 40 x 40mm cubic construction, the IQG is an all-purpose and cost-effective inductive sensor that is easy-to-switch in countless automation, conveying and materials handling applications.

The IQG delivers adaptable, flexible and robust presence sensing even in harsh environments, with a rugged IP68 /IP69K enclosure rating.  The push-lock sensor head can be rotated in five different directions to ensure the best signal, and its four corner LEDs mean the sensor status can be viewed easily from all directions.

Because of its long sensing distances, resistance to vibration and extensive temperature range from -25°C to 85°C, the IQG is a durable sensor for both indoor and outdoor use, with applications as diverse as positioning of skid conveyors in automotive manufacture, low-temperature materials handling and presence detection on theme park roller coasters.

“The IQG makes proximity sensing as easy as it possibly can be,” states David Hannaby, SICK UK’s Product Manager for Presence Detection. “The push lock mounting means the IQG can be installed in seconds, the head can be positioned five ways to get the optimum signal and there’s a LED at each corner for a quick visual assessment at any angle; what more do you need?”

Powered by SICK’s highly stable ASIC sensor technology, the IQG inductive has sensing range of 20mm (flush) and 40mm (non-flush). The rugged housing with IP68 or IP69K environmental protection is designed to withstand wet, dust and dirt, while the -25oC to +85oC temperature range covers wide interior and exterior applications and ensure a long, reliable operating life.

The easy-to-fix small mounting base allows tool-free, one-click mounting and demounting of the sensor head, and offers a high level of safety by eliminating the possibility of unintentional unlocking.

orner-mounted LEDs facilitate visual inspection, and the ability to swivel the head five different ways means the best signal can be generated in any location. The choice of lengths of the IQG head allows the compact unit to be selected for tight industrial applications or the longer version for outdoors or to help achieve the optimum installation.
