Overview

Versatility made easy – from high density to standard range codes

The IDM14x mobile hand-held scanner offers a wide range of bar code applications. The devices read all standard 1D bar codes, the PDF variants, and stacked codes such as PDF417. All the devices are extremely lightweight and fit comfortably in your hand thanks to the ergonomically shaped housing. With corded and Bluetooth variants available, you are bound to find the ideal solution for your specific application. The integrated linear imager scanning unit can identify codes at a distance of up to 850 mm. Even damaged or low-contrast codes are no problem. The combination of high read performance and varied device variants, all with highly ergonomic designs, make the IDM14x the ideal solution for many applications in the fields of office automation, factory automation as well as warehousing and logistics.

Advantages

Integration into industrial networks

Using modular connection technology, the mobile handheld scanners from SICK can be integrated into numerous fieldbus technologies such as PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET IO/RT, Ethernet TCP/IP, or EtherCAT®. When used in systems such as fixed 1D and 2D cameras or RFID read/write devices, the AUX loop-in is an economical solution.
Especially when it comes to stationary track and trace systems, manual mobile code reading is often required as a back-up. This can be done economically with AUX loop-in.
This video tutorial gives an example of the materials and steps required for integration in a fieldbus network.
Simple PROFIBUS integration into large track and trace systems is possible using the Connection Device Fieldbus fieldbus module.

Reliable code reading has never been more convenient

The IDM14x mobile hand-held scanner offers a wide range of bar code applications. They read all standard 1D bar codes and the PDF variants of the product family also even detect stacked codes such as PDF417. All the devices are extremely lightweight and fit comfortably in your hand thanks to the ergonomically shaped housing. With corded and WPAN variants, the optimal solution is available for any application. The integrated linear imager scanning unit can identify codes at a distance of up to 850 mm. Even damaged or low-contrast codes are no problem. The combination of high read performance, ergonomic design and a large selection of devices make the IDM14x the ideal solution for many applications in the fields of office automation, factory automation as well as warehousing and logistics.
When reading sample bar codes in clinical analysis: A wide range of code types can be identified quickly, correctly and without manual data input with just one device.
High productivity: Fast reading of even poorly-printed 1D or stacked codes in office automation and document handling.
Time-saving use in presentation mode: Tedious actuation of the trigger switch is no longer necessary.

Cost-effective: Fast and reliable identification of 1D codes or stacked codes such as PDF417 for daily use in a wide range of less harsh applications

SICK LifeTime Services

SICK’s services increase machine and plant productivity, enhance the safety of people all over the world, provide a solid foundation for a sustainable business operation, and protect investment goods. In addition to its usual consulting services, SICK provides direct on-site support during the conceptual design and commissioning phases as well as during operation.

The range of services not only covers aspects like maintenance and inspection, but also includes performance checks as well as upgrades and retrofits. Modular or customized service contracts extend the service life of plants and therefore increase their availability. If faults occur or limit values are exceeded, these are detected at all times by the corresponding sensors and systems.

Consulting and design Application-specific advice on the product, its integration and the application itself.
Commissioning and maintenance Application-optimized and sustainable ─ thanks to professional commissioning and maintenance by a trained SICK service technician.
Service contracts Extended warranty, SICK Remote Service, 24-hour helpdesk, maintenance, availability guarantees and other modular components can be individually combined on request.
