The MARSIC300 ship emissions measuring device from SICK is a customized solution for reliably measuring emissions on ships according to MARPOL Annex VI and IMO MEPC. The MARSIC300 is type-approved for this application by well-known classification organizations. The MARSIC300 measures both SOx and CO2 upstream and downstream of the scrubbers, and NOx upstream and downstream of SCR (selective catalytic reduction) plants.

An experienced manufacturer of emissions measurement technology, SICK is offering the MARSIC300 as a compact complete system. Designed to be used on ships, the measuring device impresses with extremely low maintenance costs and modules that are easy to replace.

The MARSIC300 measures CO2 emissions from combustion processes and ship engines. The MARSIC300 also measures methane gas, which damages the world’s climate. Methane is produced during incomplete combustion of LNG in engines. The sensors from SICK send the measured values from on board directly to the cloud and show the corresponding data, e.g. energy efficiency, in a transparent manner. With the MARSIC300, the ship emission measuring device from SICK, you can sail the seas with DNV certification and the knowledge that the measured values are reliably accessible in maritime emission control areas. You can also rest assured that device maintenance and calibration costs will stay low in the long term.

More transparency on the world’s oceans In the cloud-based SICK AssetHub, a web service for SICK customers, various SICK sensors can be mapped out and the data from the devices is displayed promptly. This means that the ship operator can monitor what the device is currently measuring at sea. In the event of a problem, such as a clogged filter, the crew as well as the shipping company receives a notification and can initiate appropriate measures.
