Access protection for windshield installation
A robot installs windshields in vehicles fully automatically. To protect people, the Safe Portal safety system therefore protects access to the robot cell. With its two microScan3 safety laser scanners, the system can safely distinguish between persons and materials. Car bodies can pass through the access point unhindered. If a person enters the hazardous area, however, the dangerous movements of the robot are stopped. The safety system can be flexibly adapted to the vehicle contours: Thanks to the safe contour detection fields and individually configurable monitoring fields, it allows different vehicle models to pass through a manufacturing line.
