Emission monitoring
In the stack, the pollutants HCl, HF, CO, NOX (NO and NO2), SO2, NH3, Ctotal, dust, and the reference values of gas velocity, pressure, temperature, O2, and H2O are continuously measured. In some countries, such as Germany, continuous measurement of the total mercury content is also required. In order to further process this information and transmit it to the authorities, the measured values are transferred to a data acquisition system. The measurements must be taken in accordance with the relevant regulations, for example the EU directive for industrial emissions, the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) 2010/75/EU, which incorporates the previous Waste Incineration Directive 2000/76/EU, among others, implemented in Germany in the 17th German Federal Emission Protection Directive (BImSchV).
