Positioning of the x and y axis of the driving and lifting unit

The positioning of the driving and lifting unit of an automated storage and retrieval system can be accomplished using distance sensors, or using linear measurement sensors and a bar code tape. To enable the driving unit to move at high speeds and accelerate quickly, the sensors must have a high resolution, repeatability and measuring speed.
