Liquid natural and petroleum gas consumption at valve train burners at EAF
Some burner systems in blast furnaces are operated with fuel consisting of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Each burner has its own valve train branch for fuel gas and oxygen. The valve train branch controls the amount of fuel gas and oxygen that is supplied to the burner. This task requires precise control of the fuel flow by monitoring fuel pressure and temperature in order to provide standardized consumption and operating data for the process controllers. A flowmeter, an electronic pressure transmitter, and a temperature sensor reliably accomplish this monitoring task. Pressure and temperature measurement is only possible in non-ex areas.
