Position monitoring of the sonotrodes using the MPA

When performing ultrasonic welding of plastic parts, it is essential that the sonotrodes be in the correct position. This is the only way to ensure that the necessary heat is produced in the seam area to fuse the plastic and create a permanent bond. The MPA position sensor monitors the position of the sonotrodes. Once the welding operation has been carried out successfully, a pneumatic gripper places the finished part ABC back on the workpiece carrier.
