Restart interlock

The restart interlock prevents the machine from automatically starting up, for example, after an electro-sensitive protective device responds while the machine is in operation, or after the machine's operating mode is changed.

The restart interlock can be implemented in the electro-sensitive protective device itself, or in the safety controller.

Before the machine can be restarted, a command to reset the protective device must be given, for example using a reset pushbutton.
