Identification of workpiece carriers using RFID

RFID transponders are applied to workpiece carriers in order to associate specific product information and manufacturing commands with the components. The RFH5xx RFID read/write device can read and write the information encoded into the RFID transponder. It comes in a variety of compact housing designs to suit any installation situation. The device can be integrated into all common fieldbus systems via the IO-Link interface. Compared to identification solutions based on bar codes, RFID is characterized by its high resistance to contamination and abrasion.
