DELIVERING MORE THAN JUST DETAILS: SMART SENSORS AND DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR INTRALOGISTICS

LOGIMAT 2026: SICK FOCUSES INNOVATION ON THE TOPICS OF DIGITIZATION, VISION AND SAFETY

"Passion for Details" – in line with the motto of LogiMAT 2026 set to be held from 24 to 26 March in Stuttgart, SICK (Hall 1, Stand F51) will be presenting intelligent sensor, digital and complete solutions that deliver crucial details to make processes more digital, efficient, safe and sustainable. Whether in production, warehouse and internal material flow technology or distribution logistics, solutions from SICK – increasingly supported by artificial intelligence (AI) – ensure reliable, efficient, sustainable, user-friendly and safe logistic processes every day. They create measurable added value in a variety of logistics and logistics-related fields of application such as warehouse automation, pallet handling, track and trace and personal and machine safety. In response to the growing importance of mobile platforms (mobile robots and manually operated industrial trucks) for modern logistics, SICK will be presenting its innovative portfolio of solutions at Stand F51 in Hall 1 and at Stand G11 in Hall 8. These solutions enable autonomous and manually guided vehicles to be operated safely and efficiently.

The annual LogiMAT will once again be the largest international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management in Europe in 2026. "LogiMAT not only provides a complete overview of the market, but has also emerged as a recognized platform for innovation. With its extensive expertise in many core logistic areas and fields of application, SICK is therefore ideally placed here as an exhibitor and provider of digitization, vision and safety solutions," says Phil Krumbein, Market Product Manager Logistic Solutions at SICK Vertriebs-GmbH in Düsseldorf.

Warehouse automation

In the core area of intralogistics, the fully automated warehouse, SICK ensures that machines and systems move the material reliably. Cold storage still presents a challenge here. Lector85x is a compact, image-based code reader for continuous use in cold storage. Thanks to special anti-fogging and insulation measures, the ambient light immunity of the sensor is impressive, even in operating environments up to -35 °C. This is due to the reliable detection of 1D and 2D codes, e.g. on pallets or products. With the Lector85x, SICK, as one of the leading full-range suppliers for the automation of cold storage bearings, has added another innovative product family for this challenging application segment to its broad portfolio.

Digitalization solutions

SICK sensors provide data for transparent processes in intralogistics. Not only does SICK ensure that the fully automated processes function reliably and efficiently, but time-consuming and error-prone manual work steps and processes also become transparent, manageable and controllable thanks to its material flow solutions. SICK Analytics is at the heart of this. The software platform provides the basis for evaluating data from SICK sensors and systems and using it for efficient, digitized intralogistics.

Track and trace

The fully automatic sorting of shipments using sorter systems is one of the standard functionalities of modern and future-proof logistics companies. Track and trace solutions from SICK record the necessary information such as bar code content, volume and weight. AI functions also enable the recognition of hazardous goods, classification and sorting by object type or the singulation of simultaneous objects, among other things. The SICK TTAL analysis and visualization software enables the monitoring and diagnostics of track and trace systems in intralogistics. The software ensures continuous performance tracking based on key performance indicators as well as targeted diagnostics in the event of a fault – with the aim of maximizing the availability of systems and processes. SICK TTAL can also be flexibly expanded and offers a range of additional functions, such as the central management of several track and trace systems.

Pallet handling

Pallets and other loading aids are the foundation of most transport and storage processes in internal material flow. Their smart handling is a decisive efficiency factor. Solutions from SICK cover all areas of automated pallet handling: the identification of deposit pallets, the inspection of pallets and the detection of damage, the localization of full and empty pallets in material flow systems, load dimensioning in 3D and weight and protrusion monitoring. With the new Cargosizer from SICK, even black-wrapped pallets are recorded and volume data can be used precisely – for billing, planning and quality assurance. Pallet handling with SICK therefore offers great potential – for greater availability, higher throughput, more reliable data and transparent and smooth processes in intralogistics material flow.

Mobile platforms

In response to the growing importance of mobile platforms (mobile robots and manually operated industrial trucks) for modern intralogistics, SICK will be presenting its innovative portfolio of solutions for the safe and efficient operation of autonomous and manually guided vehicles not only at Stand F51 in Hall 1, but also at Stand G11 in Hall 8. SICK will showcase its eco-system for mobile platforms for object detection and identification, control, localization and driving assistance of vehicles as well as for intelligent collision avoidance and area monitoring. The Flexi Mobile safety controller, which serves as a central module, not only integrates and coordinates the signals and data from standard and safety sensors on board, for example a free-moving pallet truck, but also makes them available to the smart diagnostic tools. All sensors maintain a full overview of the crucial details, thus ensuring transparency, availability, safety and performance in the material flow.

Personal and machine safety in intralogistics

Risks in the area of operational safety, ergonomic stress and high work pressure not only pose dangers for employees or service personnel, but can also impair efficient intralogistics processes. To ensure maximum personal safety with minimum downtime, logistics companies need tailor-made safety concepts. As a proven partner to the logistics industry, SICK will be presenting a range of safety sensors and complete solutions at LogiMAT. They ensure effective protection for employees and at the same time optimize the availability of machines and systems – for safe, productive and sustainable operating environments.
