  • Service Engineer Logistics Automation

    The Service Engineer Logistics Automation co-ordinates, plans and executes Factory Automation & Logistics Automation service activities for SICK FZE occurring in the Middle East region. This function reports directly to the Head of Sales Factory & Logistics Automation.

    Your Tasks:

    • Proactively collaborate and align all activities related to Project & Service Execution.
    • Help identify the key risks involved during acquisition stages related to the execution of the project and/or service.
    • Installation, Commissioning & SAT of SICK Products and Systems.
    • Communicate effectively with customers and other team members to ensure that service requests are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Perform emergency, periodic & preventative maintenance, repair, shut-down services and AMC’s for all SICK products installed at customers premises.
    • Troubleshoot & diagnose issues in a pressurised situation.
    • Provide remote and/or on-site training for customer engineers.
    • Provide remote technical service support (including email, telephonic & online).
    • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with SICK safety procedures and quality standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including work performed, parts used, time spent etc and ensure timely invoicing of service completed.
    • Support Sales Team with customer visits & carry out site surveys, to gather existing install base data.
    • Support Sales Team to promote & sell SICK Service Portfolio. 
    • Witness and/or execute pre-FAT and FAT at SICK / System Integrators premises as and when required.
    • Limit all liabilities to the company and group. 
    • Some out of normal working hours may be required (including weekends & public holidays).

    Your Profile:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a Electronics / Instrumentation Field. 
    • 10+ years of total work experience with at least 5 years handling complex international projects within the Laser & Camera based Barcode Reading Systems (1D & 2D), RFID Systems and Volume & Weight Measurement Systems.
    • Professional attitude & good communication skills at all levels of the organization.
    • Fluent written/spoken English; additional language is advantageous.
    • Technical Expertise (Project Management, IT Software, Quality Tools).
    • Working knowledge of CRM systems.
    • Multicultural sensitivity with strong communication skills.
    • Solution and customer centric / orientated point of view & understanding.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
    • Thrives under pressure and meets deadlines.

  • Project Engineer Logistics

    The Project Engineer Logistics professionally manages all CPM-project phases using appropriate methods and milestones to ensure profitable and timely project acquisition & execution (CPM Process C0 – C8). This function reports directly to the Head of Sales Factory & Logistics Automation.

    Your Tasks - Overview:

    • Support the Evaluation of Tender/RFQ specifications with the sales, commercial & legal teams during bidding stage and ensure meticulous review of Contracts, T&C’s, & special clauses.
    • Co-ordination, planning and execution of Factory Automation & Logistics Automation service activities for SICK FZE occurring in the Middle East region.
    • Experience in Laser & Camera based Barcode Reading Systems (1D & 2D), RFID Systems and Volume & Weight Measurement Systems is ESSENTIAL.
    • Support Service interventions & service support functions.
    • Limit all liabilities to the company and group.

    Your Tasks - Pre-Sales Phase:

    • Translate customer needs into solvable system specifications and prepare proposals & quotes.
    • Help identify the key risks involved during acquisition stages related to the execution of the project.
    • Develop best fit solutions for customer applications.
    • Ensure a clear, defined & agreed scope of supply or service is achieved prior to order award. 
    • Consulting customers & sales teams with respect to specific technical system solutions. 

    Your Tasks - Order Handling Phase:

    • Thoroughly review the CPM Project, Service, Maintenance & Spare Parts Order including T&C’s versus the Offer and clarify any variances. Involve Sales, Commercial and SICK Legal / Compliance Team as and when required.
    • Proactively collaborate and align the activities related to Project & Service Execution with the central Project Team as well Order Management at the Factory, supporting SSU and/or Head Office.

    Your Tasks - Execution Phase:

    • Carefully monitor the critical paths of the project and/or service and in case of any anticipated delays, propose solutions/alternatives in good time or in the absence of a resolution, escalate to management.
    • Manage Project & Service Execution milestones (technical & commercial) regularly with proactive coordination between the Factory/HQ and Customer in a professional manner – ensuring down-payment requests & final invoices are submitted efficiently. 
    • Appropriately manage any administrative procedure related to the project or service – including all CRM activities.
    • Help increase Installed Base data-base and lead CRM Installed Data-base initiative for Factory & Logistics Automation.
    • Support & co-ordinate FAT, SAT, Installation & Commissioning and Service activities as required. Including co-ordination with distribution partners and 3rd party contractors when required, ensuring all 3rd parties maintain the high standards of SICK at all times.
    • During Execution – collect customer contact info, generate leads and build customer relationships – whilst sharing all intelligence with Sales Teams.
    • Close collaboration and proactive communication with the SICK International Logistics team in order to solve any anticipated supply chain issues upfront and thus prevent any shipment delays later.
    • Keep a detailed project-related expense claim record.

    Your Profile:

    • University degree in relevant Engineering discipline. 
    • 10+ years of total work experience with at least 5 years handling complex international projects within the Laser & Camera based Barcode Reading Systems (1D & 2D), RFID Systems and Volume & Weight Measurement Systems.
    • Professional attitude & good communication skills at all levels of the organization. 
    • Fluent written/spoken English; additional language is advantageous.
