SICK Product Training

SICK offers a variety of advanced training opportunities throughout our product line. We will teach you how to efficiently solve applications and get the most out of every product in SICK's catalog.

Advanced Product Training Overview

Overall:
Twice a year for each product group, a weeklong Advanced Product Training (APT) will be held: two for Industrial Sensors, two for Safety Systems and two for Auto ID. Sessions will be broken down into modules, and attendees can choose which session(s) to attend.

Target Group:
APT is available for customers, distributors and direct SICK employees. Because of the labs involved, groups must be limited to 8-10 attendees.

Objective:
Each APT module is intended to focus on a specific product, type of application or technology beyond the scope of Introductory Training. In each APT module the competition will be evaluated in order to understand SICK’s competitive position and advantages or disadvantages.

Content:
APT will use a combination of PowerPoint presentations to cover the technologies followed by breakout hands-on lab sessions. Some examples: While at an Auto ID APT one would experience, in detail, setting up a SICK Auto ID CAN network, including the hardware, wiring and software configuration. While at an Industrial Sensors APT, one can study, in detail, SICK’s family(s) of contrast sensors: the technology, optimizing selection for difficult applications, and become familiar with the different teach methods. There will be a Safety Systems APT module covering how to configure a LSI/PLS system--and how to “revive” a PLS for stand-alone application again. When possible competitive products will receive hands-on analysis and evaluation via tests--not just hands-on, pass-around and touch!
