SICK (
www.sickusa.com
), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products for factory and logistics automation, today announced the launch of its V200 and V300 WS (Work Station) Safety Camera Systems. The V200 and V300 are small, single-unit devices that offer easy and flexible integration for point-of-operation safeguarding in electronics, robotics, packaging and pharmaceutical applications. These compact, camera-based systems require no alignment or software configuration, making them simple, cost-efficient solutions to install and start up.
The V200 and V300 safety cameras can be mounted in the corner of a rectangular frame opening to safeguard areas where operators must reach into the machine, such as small assembly, handling and test machines. Unlike safety light curtains, the V200 and V300 cameras use an invisible LED light beam to illuminate specially designed reflective strips that define the protective coverage area. Any interruption to the area is detected by the camera and the dangerous movement is stopped.
These all-in-one cameras are an easier, smaller alternative to safety light curtains. And, their small size saves inventory space, since separate sender/receiver devices aren’t necessary. Depending on the safety level required, users can choose from either the safety Category 2, SIL 1, Performance Level c (PLc) V200, or the safety Category 3, SIL 2, Performance Level d (PLd) V300.
