SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products for factory and logistics automation, today announced the launch of its IQ flat-pack rectangular inductive sensors. This complete family of inductive sensors is designed to fit into tight spaces.  IQ flat-pack sensors are easily installed using one or two screws, depending on the model, which saves installation time and costs. In addition, the IQ20 and IQ25 variants have a tough, metal housing, which reduces maintenance costs and increases sensor life.


The IQ flat-pack inductive sensors are ideal for universal applications, such as cam detection and machine positioning in packaging, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, general manufacturing automation, material handling and warehousing systems.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Flat housing - IQ flat-pack sensors fit into tight spaces on a machine. Also, the sensing head does not protrude from the sensor compared to cylindrical sensors. The flat housing style provides machine design flexibility and maintenance cost-saving benefits.
  • Easy installation - One screw (IQ04 and IQ06) or two screw (IQ20 and IQ25) installation saves installation time and costs.
  • Tough, metal housing - The IQ20 and IQ25 offer die-cast zinc housings that reduce the possibility of damage to sensors and maintenance and replacement costs. Increased sensor lifetime also contributes to process and machine reliability
