SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products for factory and logistics automation, today announced new enhancements to its line of IME Inductive Sensors. These enhancements include an increased switching frequency and a wider temperature rating for demanding applications in packaging, assembly, metal forming and automotive industries.
IME sensors are ideal for non-contact detection of metal targets in a variety of industrial environments. These low-cost, technologically advanced inductive sensors feature an ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) programming chip that eliminates production tolerances, enabling the IME to provide highly accurate and repeatable measurements. Using a Hot Melt filling material, IME sensors withstand humid areas and are able to provide excellent shock and vibration resistance. In addition, IME sensors feature a higher tightening torque -- for more rigid installation -- and high immunity to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) signals, voltage and current spikes (burst, transients), and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
