Incremental encoders, rotary
Incremental encoders generate information relating to position and
angle in the form of electrical impulses. The number of pulses per
revolution determines the resolving capability. The individual position
is determined by counting these pulses from a point of reference. When the power is first switched on an initialising reference run is needed to determine absolute position.
SICK-STEGMANN incremental encoders are in use world-wide under the toughest environmental conditions. The rugged construction and the individual adaptation of the design to the requirements of the user are the outstanding features of this series.
