For years the MBA series of rotating paddle switches have been well known as the most reliable level instruments. Now a new “MBA-child” is born – the MaihakMBA 200 – it supplies more user comfort and makes the plant even safer. It’s benefit: the MaihakMBA 200 can be optimised to work as “bin-is-full” or “bin-is-empty” switch. The indication is made in a safety-oriented way i.e. a high level indicator will prevent a overflow of the silo even if the power supply is cut off.
And there are more smart details in the design: the device has an extra large connection box to provide comfortable electrical installation and the complete head can be turned into it’s final position after it has been mounted. The sensitivity of the level switch can also be easily adjusted.
There are different types for special applications like explosion hazardous areas, or up to 800 °C high temperatures, in high pressure vessels and there are a variety and lengths of shafts which make the MaihakMBA 200 the expert for reliable level detection in nearly all bulk material.
There are two versions of the MaihakMBA 200: the classic level switch – which already has the safety oriented switch – and the microprocessor controlled level switch with multiple power supply. Both versions include the safety oriented switch and a time delay for on and off switching. Extra options include motion monitoring and electrically-controlled heating. The switch contacts are gold plated for a high reliability even for low power and current, e.g. to connect to a PLC.
In some cases more than the high and low level indication is required. Total control of the material handling is getting more and more vital. Here a continuous measurement is needed and the MaihakLOT 369 is the first choice. Wood chips, plastic granulates, sewage sludge, raps, rice or flour – the MaihakLOT 369 measures all bulk material. The application can be found within all industries from food production, building materials and waste products.
The MaihakLOT 369 combines a simple and proven measuring principle with intelligent microprocessor technology. It is rugged and works reliably in rough applications. The sensing weight is fixed to a stainless steel cable. The advantage of a steel cable is the high tensile strength, even with angular loads. The steel cable is flexible and therefore robust. Even the hard force of falling bulk material will not effect the cable’s strength. The intelligent control of the cable winch prevents the sensing weight from wobbling against beams.
The measuring range can be up to 70 m distance and the MaihakLOT 369 works in silos which are slim and high. The measurement is independent of dust and dirt in the process atmosphere. The MaihakLOT 369 measures precisely the level height even if the humidity or density of the bulk material changes. Finest powder is measured with the same degree of accuracy as rough stones, waste and sludge the same as grains and flower. If the product in the silo changes the MaihakLOT 369 continues to measure. There is no configuration to the measured product necessary.
The output signal is given as counter pulses or a 4 to 20 mA signal with a accuracy of max. 1 mm. The measurement repeats in such short frequencies that it is nearly a continuous measurement. The level of fluids can be measured continuously using the “Float Mode”. A float weight stays on the surface of the fluid and moves up and down when the level changes. The MaihakLOT 369 permanently retightens the steel cable and detects the level height.
