SICK-MAIHAK harmonizes its product portfolio and increases know-how Whether processes have to be controlled or exhaust must be analyzed: Gases and applications are present all over the world and therefore a lot of monitoring systems are installed. It is a hard job for plant managers in the different industries to find the optimal measuring system for their individual needs. Now the solution is given by SICK-MAIHAK: The long experienced specialist for environmental and process analysis now includes complete monitoring systems for continuous measurements world-wide from a single source. >> In all process industries, gas streams are monitored and controlled by analysing the concentrations of specific gas components. Due to the wide range of analyzers present on the market, plant management doesn’t know which competitive technology is the best to achieve the most reliable results. In emission monitoring for instance, two techniques are offered: the so called “In-Situ” and the “Extractive” measuring technique. Extractive measuring sampling can be performed by so called “hot wet” or “cold dry” sampling systems. The latter uses a gas cooler between sampling point and analyzer inlet.
Even if measuring applications are similar, the measuring conditions can cause a big difference in the results. For example a simple emission monitoring system (according to German regulation for power plants, so called 13th BImSchV.) within a petrochemical plant inside of explosive hazardous area and on the other hand the same application in a “normal” power plant. In the first case, the equipment has to be suitable for EEx-conditions, in the second case, standard instrumentation is sufficient.
The same is true for the measurement of liquids. Whether the TOC value has to be measured for monitoring the quality of surface water or as a parameter for recycling the condensate or a highly precise multi-component measurement of liquids is requested. We offer an individual solution for the measuring problem, even if the application needs an explosion-proof version.
We find a technically mature solution for any individual problem with low investment and maintenance costs. To reach these objectives the Analyzers and Process Instrumentation Division has been strategically developed during the last few years. “We have invested in new products and have strengthened our market position with new partners. This complements our product portfolio and notably increases our application know-how,” explains Dr. Volker Wilke, Head of Research and Development for the Division.
As one of the largest outstanding suppliers, the company is not only able to offer complete measuring techniques world-wide for continuous gas and liquid measurements, but also offers the complete service for planning, constructing, installation and start-up, as well as after sales service and maintenance contracts. The scope of delivery covers everything, starting with single analysers for system integrators, up to turn-key, walk-in analyser shelters for the end user.
The advantage for the customer is obvious: our consultants are now able to propose specific solutions to meet the individual customer’s requirements instead of limited solutions due to a limited product family. Furthermore the dependence on teamwork between unreliable sub-suppliers is no longer a factor.
