With the emergency stop buttons of the ES21 series, SICK is further expanding its product portfolio in safety technology. The devices, available as built-in or surface mount versions, are made of plastic and have a mounting diameter of 22 mm.

Packaging machines, processing centers and conveyor systems – emergency stop buttons are an essential feature of automated machines and facilities. In case of an emergency, they allow a person to stop the machine or facility immediately by pushing the button. Accordingly, emergency stop buttons are exceedingly important components within overall solutions in safety technology.

Variety of variants

No matter whether they feature an IP 65 or IP 69K housing – the emergency stop buttons of the ES21 product family meet the relevant EN ISO 13850 (EN418) and EN 60947-5-5 standards, cannot be outwitted and are suitable for integration into an operating panel as well as direct mounting to a machine in an installation housing.
Variants with integrated LED ring lighting are available the same way as devices with a protective collar to prevent inadvertent actuation. Upon actuation, emergency stop buttons must lock in place – for unlocking, the ES21 series provides solutions with key or turn buttons. The banks of contacts offer different wiring options. With respect to the built-in versions, an additional contact element monitors the safe connection between the emergency stop button and the switching contacts.
