Horizontal Flowrappers
Flowrappers typically package solid merchandise. Sensors play an important role in
making sure horizontal flowrappers run efficiently. Product is horizontally driven into a
bag by a series of gapping belts. These belts use photoelectric sensors to help adjust speeds to make sure the units are properly spaced. The goods move from the gapping belts to a product lug conveyor that positions each unit for packaging. The machine then wraps the product in film. The film is fed through several rollers to ensure the tension control is exact and the film doesn't break. Registration sensors help position the film in relation to the product to properly line up preprinted film and the product.
