Regional Distribution Sales Manager – TX/OK/NM/AR/LA

SICK is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems and automatic identification products for industrial applications. Whether automating factories or optimizing distribution centers, SICK provides cost-effective solutions. We are recognized as a technology leader in our industry and are currently looking for a Regional Distribution Sales Manager for the Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas/New Mexico/Louisiana areas.

Major responsibilities: set sales goals for each territory (product quantity and dollar value), establish a budget and manage variables to stay within those parameters, locate and interview potential distributors, support new distributors during their start-up period (including training, sales direction, and familiarization with SICK process and strategies), and manage existing distribution firms to retain performers. Attend sales calls with distributor sales people for the purpose of mentoring and training. In conjunction with distributors, identify potential large end users and OEM’s that will increase the territory volume, and define an account penetration strategy with the distributors to pursue those accounts. Reports are required regularly and on time, and activities are a measured portion of the RDSM’s compensation package.

Requires a college degree with either an academic or experiential orientation to the sales of electronics, mechanics, or optics, or other industrial controls and processes. Requires a minimum of five years experience involving sales of high-technology industrial control products through regional distributors. Must have good sales and communications skills and the ability to influence promotional efforts of distributors and distributor sales staff. Must also have strong closing skills. Additionally, the individual must be able to effectively communicate and work with SICK’s Vertical Market Account Executives for accounts that are shared by more than one SICK sales channel, or provide input and objective business reasoning to help determine the best channel to serve a particular customer or potential customer.
