Together with the small light spot that is homogenous across the entire scanning distance, the latter guarantees a maximum degree of detection reliability even in case of small parts.
Perfect object detection in any installation situation
Fast installation and maximum detection reliability from any position are users’ wishes that the MH15V BGS meets entirely. The short housing – if required in conjunction with the novel, patented mounting accessories – and the long scanning distance contribute to this just as much as the sensor’s short blind zone. In this way, it is possible to install the sensor flush, e.g. in the lateral guidance of a conveyor, thus detecting objects reliably even at very close range. This also applies to small parts, since the sensor’s transmitter LED generates a precise, homogenous light spot across the entire scanning distance that is reproduced sharply focused on the object to be scanned. Independent of the set scanning distance, due to its special chip technology the MH15V BGS features a very exact transitional zone between the scanning level and the background, causing effective suppression of interfering influences from the operating environment.
Certified stability
The non-corrosive materials and the high IP69K enclosure rating in accordance with DIN 40050 show that the sensor was designed consistently for operating environments in which chemical cleaning processes, high humidity, and high-pressure cleaning make special demands on device design. Special importance was attached to a housing layout that is optimized in terms of cleaning and hygiene. The gap-free 316L stainless steel housing made entirely of metal, the flat optics, and the waterproof, IP69K-compatible sensor construction minimize the risk of dirt build-up in practical use, allowing fast and yet thorough cleaning. Resistance to acidic or alkaline cleaning and disinfecting agents was certified in independent tests by ECOLAB and JohnsonDiversey.
For decades, SICK has ranked among the most innovative enterprises globally in the sensor industry. The latest technological insights and methods are implemented into innovative products and system solutions. They position SICK as a technological and market leader in the customer segments of factory, logistics, and process automation.
For 2009, more than 50 innovations in sensor and control solutions are scheduled. In the context of the “SICK Innovation Marathon 2009,” SICK will launch one new product per week. All of the innovations numbered 1 to 52 are more than just products: they solve tasks intelligently, efficiently, and precisely – thus creating superior customer benefit.
