The IVC-2D from SICK, in its robust and compact housing, is a smart camera providing two-dimensional detection that offers the right resolution for every application – 0.3 megapixels VGA for rapid processes, 0.78 megapixels for standard applications, and the newly available UXGA resolution of 1.9 megapixels for applications in which maximum precision and repeatability are required.
Focusing on economical image processing
The IVC-2D can also implement demanding applications economically. The IVC Studio program library, with over 110 software tools, supports rapid application development – saving time and cutting costs – as well as optimum implementation in the application. The smart camera can be operated as a stand-alone device, whereby installation is considerably less complex than a PC-based vision system. A variety of illumination variants controlled by the IVC-2D allows the ideal structuring of the particular solution in situ. Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s), TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Ethernet/IP, an RS485 interface, and seven freely programmable inputs and outputs are available for easy data-related integration in control and automation systems or for guiding a robot. Furthermore, the IVC-2D’s integrated OPC server allows the direct exchange of data, e.g. with a SCADA system. The IP 65 enclosure rating ensures reliable operation of the smart camera with a high level of availability, even in harsh environments.
Technically and economically, the IVC-2D with its resolution of 1.9 megapixels is the ideal solution for demanding tasks involving optical inspections and 2D position detection, in which maximum precision and repeatability are important.
