SICK now also offers the PBS electronic pressure switch with IO Link functionality, thus creating greater added value for both end-customers and system producers. Among other things, IO Link permits automatic sensor parameterisation and measurement data collection. For the PBS pressure switch, this means that, for example, any parameter changes necessary when exchanging devices can be carried out automatically within milliseconds, without any potentially erroneous manual adjustments. This results in increased plant productivity.
Up to now, pressure switches have frequently had to be installed on the exterior of plants in order to be easily accessible for adjustment. IO Link allows pressure measurement direct on the pressurised container. Therefore no additional piping to the plant exterior is necessary. This enables both simpler integration and significant cost savings.
With the IO Link functionality of the PBS pressure switch SICK offers, for example, the machine tool industry the possibility of improving competitiveness. SICK’s PBS pressure switch combines electronic switching outputs, analogue output and display in a single device. Its robust and precise pressure measurement technology, with measurement ranges of up to 600 bar, gives the PBS universal applicability. As a result of its compact design, the PBS can also be very easily integrated when space is limited. The doubly rotating housing allows both optimum orientation of the display to the observer as well as orderly cable guidance. The brilliant display, large buttons and intuitive menu guidance make operation simple. The PBS offers varied configuration and can thus be ideally adapted to individual customer requirements.
