Integration of the CLV6xx into Ethernet networks takes place via the external CDF600 Ethercat fieldbus module. The electrical connections have a plug-in design. A total of six LEDs provide detailed status information and, in the case of a fault, indicate possible causes – for rapid and targeted correction. The CLV6xx Profinet has the fieldbus connection on board and thus reduces system and installation costs.
Both the CLV6xx with the external CDF600 Ethercat and the CLV6xx with integrated Profinet are fully integrated in SICK’s IDpro cross-technology platform and portfolio strategy. As a result, regarding the fieldbus connection, the devices are completely compatible and can be networked with the other bar code scanners of the CLV6xx series, the LECTOR®620 2-dimensional code reader or the RFH620 RFID interrogator. Control and software structures that have been implemented once in a machine or plant, as well as data telegrams that have been parameterized once, can be used for all Auto-ID IDpro sensors with almost no adaptation.
CLV6xx: the bar code laser scanners for logistics automation
The bar code laser scanners of the CLV6xx series combine a high reading performance with particularly user-friendly integration. As a result of the integrated autofocus of the CLV65x, these devices are capable of reliably identifying objects of differing sizes or with varying reading distances. During commissioning, relevant parameters (e.g. reading distance or reading speed) are parameterized at the I-point, and administrated and stored via fieldbus using SICK’s SOPAS central configuration software. To save time, identical set-ups can be copied using drag & drop – which accelerates the commissioning of devices with identical settings, as well as device replacement in the case of a fault. Installation is also easy: mechanically using a well thought-out mounting concept, and electrically with a rotating right-angle plug, ensuring an optimized cable outlet in every installation situation.
